Okay so I'm in need of a new PC, and it's going to be used mostly for gaming and intense rendering. I know it's a bit overkill, but I want something that won't need replacing for some years, and be able to play things reliably at 4k quality. I was hoping you could tell me if this build is appropriate, or if there are any cheaper possible opportunities.
CPU - Intel Core i7-5930K 3.5GHz 6-Core
GPU - GTX 970 x 2
Motherboard - ASRock X99 Extreme3 ATX LGA2011-3
Case - NZXT Source 530 ATX Full Tower
Power Supply - EVGA SuperNOVA NEX750B BRONZE 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Mod
Cooling - Thermaltake Water 3.0 Extreme 99.0 CFM Liquid
Hard Drive - Seagate Barracuda 1 TB
SSD - Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
RAM - Crucial 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory

Thank you so much.

Why isn't it a good idea?

Your resolution will be the most important factor. If above 1080p I would go 970 SLI, It blows the 980 out the water :)

Budget isn't so much of an issue, so long as I get the high quality. What are the disadvantages of dual 970?
