I built a computer and am having issues with it. the board says that it has an integrated GPU, so i did not buy one. but when i turn it on, i get an error beep code of 5 long beeps. from what i've found online, that code either means that there's a problem with my CPU (https://ddr4motherboard.com/beepcodes/ASROCK-A320M-HDV) or that the computer is "Without VGA card"(https://www.asrock.com/support/faq.us.asp?id=286).

so here's my confusion: when i first bought all these parts and plugged them all together, it wouldn't pass POST and i didnt get any error code beeps. so i contacted amazon, returned both my motherboard and processor, and re-installed the new parts. it still wont turn on but i now get these error beeps. but they make no sense to me...

to explain what i mean by, it wont turn on:
when i press the power switch on the case, everything starts spinning and lights come on (case fans, power supply fan, liquid cooler pump, liquid cooler radiator fan). those all turn on. i even tried pluggin in an old HDD to see if that was all getting power. sure enough, you could hear it spinning. but i didn't get any beeps or display from the first CPU/Mother board. now that i switched those parts out, i at least now get beeps. 5 long ones.

if u think it's power related, yes i plugged the 4pin power cable in for the cpu and you can check the case URL below for the PSU specs.

i still have my old cpu/motherboard here. i haven't returned the old ones yet. i still have 15 days to do that so i'd figure i'd find a combination that works and return the other ones. so far i've tried the 2 old ones, the old motherboard and the new cpu, and then finally just today i tried both the new parts together.

ANYTHING would help. please and thank you!

**UPDATE**
I have been informed by someone else on a different thread that i might need to update my bios in order for this to work. i just dont know how to do that. anyone care to walk me through that process?

Solution
You need a card when using Ryzen , you don't when you use an APU that is compatible.
Integrated AMD Radeon™ R-Series Graphics in A-series APU*

"AM4 A-Series APUs (Bristol Ridge)"

Time to purchase a graphics card.
