Help with AMD 7970 PCB repair!

Hi i got a AMD reference 7970 card from a mate, that doesn't post when in my system. I removed the cooler to find a burn/explosion mark near the fan header. how can i fix this? He's previously tried to fix it hence the solder over the affected area?

Give that crap back to your friend. It's not fixable in that condition.

The PCBs are made by passing mounted SMD components on the PCB through a wave solder machine.

The manufacturer doesn't repair PCBs that test bad. They replace them.

We've guys from India posting that they repair mobos and graphics card PCBs. Apparently they have success about 10% of the time. And that's when the damage is localised to a single component. If you put too much heat on any SMD component you will destroy it.
