After trying to update my drivers recently, my computer has been crashing and freezing whenever I watch YouTube videos or play games. I have tried the auto detect method and it says I should download the crimson drivers. I also tried downloading the latest catalyst drivers and still nothing. In a last ditch effort I bit the bullet and did a factory reset to erase the entire hard drive. Afterwards, I installed the crimson drivers and still bad the same problem. Each time it freezes the screen goes out and comes back on with the error message display driver has stopped working and has recovered. Is there anything I can do?

Graphics Card - AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series.

Processor AMD A4-3400 with Radeon HD Graphics.

Operating System - Windows 8.1 64 bit

Try this,
First of all you need to TOTALLY remove all the old drivers. Use this link.
http://www.wagnardmobile.com/DDU/
Note:
Select the respective company(i.e Nvidia or ATI) drivers to be uninstalled.
Use clean and restart option.
And then install the new drivers after rebooting.

Try the crimson drivers. If that doesn't work properly use drivers from here,
http://www2.ati.com/drivers/auto/autodetectutility.exe

Both solutions do not work. I have tried uninstallng with wagnard before and removed all the old drivers. After installing both the crimson drivers and the legacy drivers listed above, I am still having crashes every time I try to run a game. Autodetect still gives me the crimson drivers even though they don't work with my card.
