My CPU is a i7-4790 4.0GHz (http://www.amazon.com/Intel-BX80646I74790K-i7-4790K-Processor-Cache/dp/B00KPRWAX8). I have a Z97-A motherboard (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00K2MAU5Q/?tag=pcpapi-20) and I bought corsair vengeance Pro 16GB DDR3 2400MHz (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EUPV2RQ/?tag=pcpapi-20). Here is the rest of my build:

I just enabled my XMP profile to get my RAM to 2400 MHz. This went very easily but now when I check my Asus Suite 3, it seems to have disabled my Digi+ VRM optimized settings and set it to extreme. When I set it back to optimized it will reset to extreme upon reboot. Also it will fail to boot up sometimes requiring me to just simply boot it up again and it then works. I'm very confused but I don't want to damage any parts. What setting should my Digi+ VRM be set to and how should my CPU be powered? Is this current setting of extreme going to hurt any of my hardware parts?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Solution
The xmp is probably changing some settings for your ram higher to achieve the 2400Mhz your wanting.

When you change settings in Asus suite 3 and then reboot later is reading the lower voltages but cant boot your ram at 2400Mhz at those voltage settings. I would just leave the setting on extreme.

My Digi+ VRm and DIGI+ Power control are bother turned to off in my AI Suite 3, but I don't use XMP profiles I manually set them in the bios.

Thanks for the advice. Is keeping it on extreme going to wear down my system faster or hurt any hardware? I was just looking into the BIOS and saw that I could set the Digi+ VRM to be optimized all the time instead of auto but would it then not be supplying enough power for the full DRAM speed?
