my sata HDD is coming up as ide is that ok?
how do i set my disk drive to master insted of slave?
the CD_in plug on my mobo conects to my cd drive correct?
what else do i need to do before i put in my mother board CD?

1. Yes, unless you plan on using raid, which is for 2 or more drives.
2. Use the jumpers on the back of the drive. Some have diagrams on the label, and some in the directions, which are also available online.
3. Yes
4. Set your boot order in the bios to floppy>cd>ide 0 or hardrive. Set your shutdown temp (on some boards with amd cpus) in the hardware monitor section to 65 celcius. Most important, read the owner's manual cover to cover to prevent a no post startup.

is 52C a good temp for a e6300 on stock HSF?
what do i do after i set up all my bios and cmos features? i put i the disk that came with my mobo and it tells me press any key to start express recorvery 2 witch restores my hard disk data. shoud i put my windows xp in first? or do i have to run all the drivers that came with my hard ware first

Windows will ask for any drivers it can't find. Then you can use your motherboard cd or the windows xp disk. If you have any anoying problems, you may still have to format the drive and start over. But it's ok to try the recovery program first.
