It appears randomly whne I boot up vista. Stop:0x0000008e error. I have an Asus p5n-d E8400 2gb 800mhz kingston ram, 8800 GTS 512. I have reinstalled all the latest drivers for mobo ,sound and GPU in safe mod and I still get this at startup after the vista loading screen.
I veryfied the memory with vista memory checker. Here are the details
OS Version: 6_0_6001
Service Pack: 1_0
I copied these from the vista problem reports
Here is Memtest86+. Download the - Pre-Compiled Bootable ISO (.zip). In order to make the CD bootable, you will need to extract the ISO zip file with Vista and burn the ISO to CD with ISO Recorder v 2 or other ISO burning software.
I ran the mem test 2 TIMES and I found NO ERRORS.
Maybe it's adriver problem or something wrong with the bios ,because I OC'ed my cpu to 3.6 ghz and I changed some others settings. I should try with default settings.
I did: ram 1.89(default 1.8),cpu1.18750 OC'ed to 3.6(STABLE),HT to 1.44,NB 1.40,SB 1.60.
I tryed to boot up with default settings but still got the error.
I have the same board. I can tell you this, at a 1:1 cpu/mem ratio. The NB boot strap for my board and processor(E8200) is not stable at all. It will pass Prime95 Small FTT, but in Blend it will fail.
1. Up your voltage a bit more to 1.225v in BIOS --> Actual with CPUz will read about 1.185v, Vdroop on this board is .04v
2. Go to 3.7Ghz(RatedFSB 1644) , or downclock to 3.5Ghz(RatedFSB 1555)
3. Keep your memory unlinked, and set it close to 800Mhz or below.
If memory is testing fine, then there's a good chance you're just in an FSB hole. Do the 3 things I suggest, that should stablize things.
I just ran memtest 86 + and found NO ERRORS . Here is the report:
WALL TIME Cached rsvd mem Cache ECC Test PASS ERRORS
12:35:27 2047 52 on off Std 20 0
This means that the BSOD is not caused by the memory.Maybe it's because of bad timings settings.Default timings are 6-6-6-18 I think and I set them to 5-5-5-15 and increased the voltage to 1.890 (default 1.8)
Or maybe it's a driver problem . I have all the latest drivers Installed.
