So i got a system with an E6600 and 8gigs of ddr2 ram. Also fitted is a 305 (yea strange number so just consider it 300) Watt PSU. Now my question is if this can fit a 750ti. I did some research and think it will work. Just wanted to be sure. Thanks in advance for your help.

Also at what framerate would this run games like csgo?

Solution
To answer your last question first, CS:GO responds strongly to a more powerful/faster CPU. A 750 Ti will work so long as it does not require a separate PCIe PSU power cable. The single fan units are generally this way as they are powered off the PCIe slot's 75W power.

Regarding FPS, it's really hard to say as that CPU is so old. If you turn down resolution to say 720p and maybe some quality settings, you should get a solid 60FPS. That's just a guess based on how my old 3.0GHz E8400 and GTX 680 ran Half Life 2 at 1080p (100+ FPS) which engine CS:GO is based off of. However you can try running at 1080p and max the quality/detail settings and see where you are, like if finding 45FPS acceptable. Again though, nobody can give you...

Also keep in mind CS:GO is an enhanced version of the original HL2 engine meaning more CPU/GPU power is needed for the same relative FPS performance for it vs. HL2 at the same resolution and quality settings.

Okej, thanks for your fast response!

Actually I found this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-YsMh4tjwU&feature=youtu.be

That guy was running an i5 4690K with a 750 Ti and averaged 190-200+ FPS at 1080p. You can watch his game setting setup in the beginning of the video. Now how much less your E6600 will be is anyone's guess. But you should be easily above 100FPS now that I see that since the game engine does not respond to more than two cores. Some say it maxes out at three cores but I have found no real proof of that in CPU benchmark analysis. At least from pro tech websites like Tom's.

Keep in mind that if your monitor is only 60Hz, you are really wasting video card power beyond 60FPS. I would suggest V-sync locking FPS to 60Hz in Nvidia's control panel to save unnecessary increased power consumption. You will not notice the difference. Especially with a lower end power supply. Good luck!

Wow thanks, i think i just have to give it a shot in that case.
