Building a new Day Trading Computer. I haven't build a computer since 2003, would like a little help or suggestions.

My current system is an ASUS laptop G531GT:

Intel i5-9300H
36 GB RAM
4 ASUS Zenscreens

I based this build off of (https://claytrader.com/videos/build-trading-computer/)

Here are the parts:

Hard Drive - Samsung 970 EVO Pluss SSD 1TB (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MFZY2F2/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1)

CPU - AMD Rysen 9 3950X (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ZTYKLZW/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1)

CPU Cooler - NZXT Kraken X53 - (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08MB5WDB2/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1)

Case - Fractal Design Meshify C - (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074DQVB97/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?smid=A1H9NMCPZH97BO&psc=1)

Motherboard - ASUS TUF B450M-Plus - (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FKV3TVF/ref=ox_sc_act_title_5?smid=A3NYI7TZN48UUJ&psc=1)

Powersupply - Seasonic FOCUS GM-750 - (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B084TSPNR5/ref=ox_sc_act_title_6?smid=A2L77EE7U53NWQ&psc=1)

Video Card - PNY NVIDIA Quadrp P1000 - (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06X9SC9SD/ref=ox_sc_act_title_7?smid=AJ1BUG50UXZKY&psc=1)

RAM - Cruical Ballistix 2666 HMz DDR4 32 GB - (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B083TRRT13/ref=ox_sc_act_title_8?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1)

Monitors - LG 32" 4k (three)

I'll be using this 5 days a week solely for trading. Wondering what changes you would make to keep it around $3,000. Is there anything you see that would be a bottle neck? I'm currently using 14gb of RAM on my current system but I'll be running more charts in eSignal. My CPU has been maxed out at times, thought about going with a Ryzen 7 since the prices are much lower.

You wont need 16 cores for a trading build. He himself says 12 cores is much more than he needs. This should give you same performance for your workload at half the cost...

Thank you for the reply. I agree that the CPU is overkill for what I'm running. I'll look at the i9. Why would you go with that GTX over a workstation card?

I'd add another SSD for the sake of redundancy and could use a DDR4-3600MHz dual channel ram kit. Outside of that the build is alright!

I considered upgrading the RAM since the board can handle much faster RAM. Are there any reliability issues with maxing out the speed?

I have a couple areas of concern.

A 4k monitor will have very small text so using a 32" monitor will probably make you increase the text size to be legible. Even with a 40" 4k monitor I used before, I needed to increase text size.
I changed to a LG 48" OLED tv and that is more reasonable.
Past that, the OLED image is stunning and clear.
I am thinking that you might want to look at something like the 55 or 65" cx units
https://www.newegg.com/lg-oled-cx-55/p/16C-000P-004G3
A single large display space lets you fit pages where you want them without borders.

I recall somewhere that the quadro cards have difficulty with image quality and performance when multiple monitors are attached.
You might want to search for more info there.

Your current 9300H processor has 8 threads and a passmark performance rating of 7883.
That is when all 8 threads are fully utilized.
The single thread rating is 2378.
It is the single thread performance that is most responsive for quickness.

The r9-3950X will have 32 threads and a rating of 39233/2745
If you are looking at ryzen, the newer 5000 series does much better per clock.
The r5-5800X with 16 threads and a rating of 28634/3506 would, I think be a better upgrade.
On the Intel side, the 11th gen processors also have improved performance per clock.
A I7-11700K, for example would have 16 threads and a rating of 26044/3573.
A plus for the 11700K is that it included integrated graphics which would drive a few displays
For what you are doing, that may be sufficient.
At least it would get you going until graphics cards become reasonable again.

No need for expensive liquid coolers unless you are into overclocking all cores.
Today, the native turbo mechanism's of the latest intel and ryzen increase performance of a few favored cores past stock when the need is there and conditions permit.

A good twin tower air cooler like the noctua NH-D15s will cool equally well and cost half as much.
It will not wear out like a aio and it will not leak.
While leaks are rare, a leak can be catastrophic.

You can go with either, it doesnt matter for your workload which is primarily trading software...

Gaming cards used to lack compute performance back in the day but these days theres not a huge difference. I chose that card because of 3 HDMI slots for your monitors. But if you can get display port cables for your monitors, you can go for better options like below...

This is a scaled up version for your liking...

You’ve been trading on 48”? What’s that like? I’ve been using multiple monitors to maximize a chart im interested in. Not sure how to do that on only a portion of the screen.
