i want to build a non-gaming system for a family member. I built one last year but wasnt sure if things had changed or not.

I dont care if its an AMD or Intel build. I was thinking of AMD but i was not sure what CPU to start with.

any suggestions on a build would be greatly appreciated. i am hoping ot get components and such so that i can build it as a present for christmas. but i know that deciding what components to get takes me a really long time so getting started now.
