Help with building gaming computer for modern games/new releases on medium to high graphics, budget £600 (USD 1000)

I am a newbie to building computers. I have a budget of £600. I’m willing to try and put it together myself but doubt I’ll get far in this.
I’m looking for my own gaming rig after my Notebook broke down on me a while back.
Games I aim to play on this are
ESO, BF4, Civ 5 Etc all on medium to high graphics.
Any new releases ill expect to play on medium and hopefully be able to record game play on all games.

You have some quite high expectations. But alas, a good pc may be able to do some of what you ask. I would suggest not recording bf4 however, unless you reduce the details.

I do suggest you try to put it together yourself. It's a great learning process, and its good not being scared of the innards of your pc. Most components come with a warranty.
Its really not that hard, you don't have to be an expert. look up a few tutorials.

that would work. Just get the cheapest 8gb memory you can, and any storage you choose
