Hi I'm very new to the PC building scene and spent two days confusing over the many parts, their compatibilities, etc, right now my considered set up is something like this:

OS:
Windows 8 Professional 64-bit

CPU: i5 3570k
(considering the insignificant boost that i5 Haswell 4670 can give over the above, and the cheap secondhand price I can get it on)

VGA: MSI HAWK 7870
(again, cheaper secondhand)

MOBO:
ASRock Extreme 4 (can someone tell me what cases this mobo is compatible with)

MEMORY:
CORSAIR Vengeance RED 8GB 1600MHz

As for the internal drive I'm considering to start with 120GB SSD as I also have a 1TB HDD (and see if I can upgrade to 1-2TB internal HDD later on)

CASING:
I really like the Bitfenix Prodigy because of its portability, since I'm going to be bringing this desktop to Singapore for my studies (ask me why I don't just buy it there? It's because it's much cheaper to get the parts here in Indonesia) but it's a mini ITX case and I'm not sure if all the parts I mentioned above will be compatible?
So I'm also considering Corsair 400R or can someone refer me to a compatible midtower/matx case that's around $100 or less? (keep in mind I'll look for a secondhand one too so the price range of a secondhand item is fine)

Feel free to switch out my mobo if you have a better suggestion within the price range. The thing is, I will be spending the most on the monitor because I really want an AOC Q2963PM or a Dell Ultrasharp U2410 :p that's why I'm trying to push the budget on the CPU a bit.

As for the uses, I mostly play League of Legends (will the above play on high settings with decent FPS?), Sims 3 (and the upcoming Sims 4), occasional design and 3d modeling but nothing heavy really, and watch things (so the Full HD thing is really important to me).

Well this is turning out to be a bit of an essay, if you have suggestions please let me know!

you might want to get a slightly more recent video card but that should be fine. the only thing I would change is the mobo. rather go for an asus or gigabyte at around the same price range.(you will find that you can get very similar features at around the same price) as for the case, i am a real sucker for cube cases such as the Corsair Carbide Series Air 540. you can fit a lot in it and it has excellent cooling options. most mobos will work with pretty much any case as long as the case is large enough. look for an atx size case(like the one i suggested) and you're golden.

For monitor. This is good ,cheap and best buy for its price and quality.

And for the video card. I think best buy is GTX 760 and you can trow in other later.
Then you will have faster set than one 780.
Asus is good silent card. http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-video-card-gtx760dc2oc2gd5
