If something burnt, it was likely caused by electrical arcing when the RAM lost physical contact with the slot, but was still close enough for electricity to jump the gap.
Then you likely accidentally tore your ram up, with a decent possibility you tore your ram slot up, and a slight possibility you ruined the memory controller on the CPU or motherboard (depending on the build) to the point you'd need nearly and entire new build to fix it.
Or EVERYTHING may be fine. However I suspect if you're here you've already tried to put it back in and it didn't?
