Help with case for this build

I need help picking a case. Here's my build so far:

AMD Phenom II X3 720 2.8GHz Socket AM3
BIOSTAR TFORCE TA790GX 128M AM2+/AM2 AMD 790GX
XIGMATEK HDT-S963 92mm Rifle CPU Cooler
Corsair 4 GB (2 x 2 GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
MSI N250GTS-2D1G-OC GeForce GTS 250 1GB
Western Digital 320GB 7200rpm
OCZ Fatal1ty OCZ550FTY 550W
Pioneer Black 20X DVD±R


I was originally looking at the Antec 300 case, but the size might be a bit too big. I need the height to be around 16-17 inches. What do you think of this case? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147114
Will that fit all of my components? What I'm most worried about is the CPU cooler and the power supply (I've heard that Fatal1ty is kinda large). The video card is smaller than most nowadays... I think less than 10 inches long. Will that case do well with cooling?

That second case might be ok, the Windryder will be too small width wise of a good CPU cooler.

The rosewill case is 18.25 inches tall

the antec 300 is either 18 inches tall or 18.3 inches tall .

Basically thats as small as you can go with an ATX motherboard

But I think even the Ryder is a gud case...it has also featured in the TOMS low budget SBM...So u can get a short review abt tat case in tat article..

No, I haven't already purchased these components.

The first rosewill case is 18.25" x 7.25" x 16.5" (D x W x H)
The second rosewill case is 8" x 17" x 18.5" ( W x H x D )

So the 7.25" width might be pushing it a bit?

gkay09, which low budget SBM was the Ryder featured in?

I did notice that the second one has 3 fans... so that one might be a better deal.

I wasn't thinking of going crossfire at all, but I suppose you're right. It'd be better to just go with an ATI card just in case. I really like the GTS250 for its small size, low temps, and low power consumption. Would a 4850 be comparable to that card? In another thread someone said that the 4870 512MB > GTS250 1GB > 4850 1GB. I haven't found the 1GB 4850 for a good price yet. Will the 512MB 4850 be near the performance of these cards? Or would it be much better to go with the 1GB version?

This is pretty reasonable I think, and comparable to the GTS 250 1GB performance wise. You don't really need the extra Video ram if you are using a small resolution, less than 1680x1050 there is very marginal improvement going from 512mb to 1gb.

Yeah, I just saw that one. It used to be $161 and hadn't reduced in price with the rest for some reason. Well, our resolution will be 1680x1050 and sometimes less (22" 480i tv I think). So is it worth the extra money for the 1GB at those resolutions? This 512MB 4850 is a pretty good price: (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127401). But it has some reviews that say it has problems with fan control and overclocking. Is it better to go with a Sapphire? (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102770)

You might see the benefit of the extra ram on that resolution, but not as much as you would at 1080P. I think I might go with the MSI 512 card, but depending on the games you play you might actually want the extra ram, especially if you like AA.

So it's either the 4850 or the 4870 at a price difference of $45. The 4870 is a bit large... and this computer won't be playing too many of the super demanding games like Crysis. So I think I'll go with the 4850. Unless you really advise otherwise?

here u go it was actually the $1250 build...

Wow, they fit in a lot more into that case than I'm wanting to. They fit in the 120mm CPU cooler without a problem. I'm wanting to put in the 92mm cooler in it, so I think I'll be fine on size. I think I'll go with that case... it's cheaper and has free shipping.

Well if u don play tat demanding games, stick wit the 4850...and there is always an option of adding another in crossfire...So no problem...and 2 4850 in crossfire perform very well...
