Hi guys,

I am looking for a new rig, this is my first time building a custom pc and just wanted some advice from more experienced people.

I have a budget of $1,100-$1,300 but would love to build it cheaper then that. What I will be doing on the machine is casual gaming (Far Cry 4 etc. with no need for 4K resolution) and 3d rendering, which I am only beginning so will be using programs like Daz Studio/Lux Render, I would only be looking to use programs like Poser/Octane after I become more experienced.

The rig I have so far is as follows:

Would this rig be sufficient for what I need or does it need changing? And are there any parts that are overkill or ways I could make this cheaper?

Thanks

You can drop the cooler.. as for making it cheaper I don't know because it all looks pretty solid except the gpu.. a r9 270x would be better but I think you will find you want even more gpu power for your needs and you will need more of a power supply.

So should I get a better GPU for the gaming side? or for both? Down the line I may use a dedicated GPU render program, so would probably want a CUDA compatible GPU, however at the moment while beginning and learning this will not be required.

And do I bother with spending and extra say $100 and get the OC i7? If I don't religiously game is OC even necessary?

It's all hard to put together, my wife has just told me to go buy a new computer from the store, but want to do this myself and have quality components that will allow upgrades and have a bit of future-proof.

Thanks
