Problems:
Our internet is painfully slow, even though I pay through the nose for the top service of, up to 300Mbps. I just did a speed test and the download was 141.09 and upload was 26.93, for WIRED connection. I won't even tell you what the wifi speeds were at the same time, and I was sitting right next to the router! Totally unacceptable in my opinion. This test was done with only my desktop running. All other devices are turned off or in sleep mode. My guess is it would have been next to zero had one of the kids been streaming youtube.

What I want to do:

First and foremost I have to fix our internet. We don't have an option of switching providers, there is only one other, and they are worse. I don't have the option to choose a better internet through Cox, as I have the best they can offer me at our current location.

I want to simplify my box and make it work, like it's suppose to, because that box gives me anxiety just looking at it.

I want to have my modem in the box and I want to be able to use all my CAT5e outlets in our rooms. I would like to have as many devices wired in, rather than wi-fi. I know I will need to purchase and install a switch in our central box to make this work.

I want to put my router somewhere else. Our central box is in the laundry room (HORRIBLE place in my opinion), so i don't want it there. The router is in the office, which is not centrally located in our house.

Is any of this possible? Please say yes

Solution
You implied the pictured structured wiring box is in the laundry room and you don't like it there, the whole reason I said the rest of your equipment can be anywhere you want, but if I misunderstood you and you can place everything nearby, is fine.

Are you asking if you can put EVERYTHING inside this pictured box? quick answer, NO. Put everything on a nearby table or some version of THIS, for a good job.
Assuming all those blue cables are CAT5 and terminate at various rooms on RJ45 jacks.....

The only thing that needs to be here is the ethernet switch, everything else, your future "equipment room" can be in any room with at minimum 1 coax and 2 CAT5 which terminate at this panel. Your future equipment room will most likely house future boxes with fan(s), and lots of blinking lights so bedroom no good, and needs reasonable ventilation, so no closets without vents.

The WIFI radio can be anywhere with an ethernet jack near, again, the other end of which terminates at this panel.

Yes, the whole house is CAT5e, even the phone jacks.

Are you saying that this current box won't do what I want it to do? That it will need to be larger and in a different location? The only reason I don't think the laundry room is a bad place is because of the moisture
