The old chip was an E6600 ,Il check the pins because the cable n everything else is properly ,im guessing something went wronf with the motherboard because the e6600 chip doesnt work on the motherboard and will the quad chip be affected by the ram ddr2?

The CPU and interface circuits to the socket is one of the most static sensitive parts in the system. Did you use an ESD strap to protect the CPU and motherboard when you were swapping the CPU? If returning the old CPU to the motherboard does not get it running like it did before, then I would suspect ESD damage to the motherboard.

Is the video from an add-in card? Does the motherboard and CPU have integrated graphics that you can test with? I would try that to see if you can get to the bios POST anyway. Does the POST give any beeps through the PC speaker? The number of tones indicates what the motherboard is having problems with.

I didnt use an esd strap but I handled the chip properly and yes the old chip doesnt work at all ,im really guessing the motherboard is at fault and I have tried both ports one from the motherboard and the other frm the add on card ,none works ,I tested the graphics card on another machine and it works so does the chip
