Hey all

I have been looking far a case to support my dream machine. I have three in mind but I would like to hear other opinions. The three I have in mind are the Lian Li PC-1200, Cooler Master Stacker STC-T01 and the Cooler Master Stacker 830.

This is what I plan on running
Asus A8N32-SLI
AMD X2 4800
2GB Ram
2x 7800 GTX 512
2 Optical drives
2 hard drives
Fan controller (s)
Temp monitor (s)

For the cooling rig

Danger Den Black Ice Xtreme 3 Rad
Danger Den Black Ice Xtreme Rad
Swiftech Apogee CPU Block
Danger Den 7800 GTX SLI Block (when they come out with it)
Maybe some hard drive, north, south bridge coolers
Dual 5 1/4 bay Res
Swiftech MCP655
All 1/2 ID tubing

What do you think?
Thanks

me being a little on the nutso side went with a similar cooling option on mine. since I didnt want to mess with L fittings and extreme angles required by some of the more standard cases (tight quarters), I went a little, well, big. 1/2" tubing doesnt bend too well compared to 3/8" or 1/4", so it should be fun. overall I went with the Mountain Mods U2UFO case. a little spendy and alot big, but gave me enough room to do anything I wanted w/o worrying about kinks. for the pump thou I recomend the Hydor SELTZ L 35 II. water flow is excellent, and noise is minimal. if you go 1/2", water flow is your friend.
just my 2c, have fun!

Thx for the help

i dont know about the tichi case though im a little worried about the feng shui of the case.

One thins i dont understand in the Head to GPH ratio. could you explain?

Thx again.

ok the case I am building is the without there crappy liquid cooling system there system is 1/4 id puting out only 16.5 GPH gallons per hour
not enough if you are going to go duel SLI like I plan to so I went to dangerden.com and designed my own 1/2" id system

But head pressure is how many pounds per square inch (PSI) you put through the system
your dealing with plastic flexable tubing anything over I guess arround 40 PSI and you could rupture the tubing

remember water and electronics dont mix well

so lets say at low speed of the pump you put out 10 PSI and 6.8 GPH this is proberly good enough for idle of a single cpu for cooling
at medium speed 20 PSI and 15 GPH
and at high speed we double the PSI there for doubling the GPH
the more GPH the better the cooling system will work

warning these figure are not true there only for demonstration you must consult the pump to get actual figure

as for the feng shui of the case you must consult a feng shui master only he can help you with that. You must also ensure that you whole house is up to this standard or (if you belive in this) Disaster will fall upon your home

8) I hope this helps some

So as GPH gos up PSI goes down?

If so would the Hydor SELTZ L 40 II or Swiftech MCP655 be enough to cool my massive system or should I consider 2 pumps.

Also what do you think of PC ICE.

and yes my house is very feng shui. 😀

no as gph goes up so must PSI until maximum output of the pump is reached

and for a complete system you will require

a pump
a radiator & fans
a cpu water block
a video water block 1 per video card
and a Resevoir
"Tee or Y " Splitters
A flow indicator(optional)

you might want to check out frozen cpu too they have some realy radical water cooling parts there for the overclocker in all of us

PC ice works use a colour indicator because the clear is just as bad as using plane water (you are not able to see the leak) order extra bottle
just incase

and I am using the Swiftech MCP655 with 1/2 inch ID lines and I also use red PC ICE

do not mix pc ice with water

water is conductive and is the source of mold and algae and other floatie things
you must also add in an anti algae supplument and an anti fungal system they usually are in the same bottle

use only distilled water which you must change every 4 to 6 months
or use pc ice and nothing else it already has these ingeatents in the mixture
and the replacement time is 2 to 3 years

plus if you get a leak in a working pc using water say goodby to your system as in fried electrical parts

if you get a leak in the pc ice system 95% chance you just have to fix the leak and dry off the system and reboot you might loose a part depending on how much pc ice you lost loose too much and you will get an air lock thats when you will get a over heat of the cpu or the video card GPU

thats why I say 95% chance

do not use radiator fluid for a automobile the additives in this will eat plastic parts

So what about the stuff floating around at the bottom of the bottle?

can that stuff hurt my machine or is ir harmless?

the bottle with the floating suff in it is outdated and should be sent back
because if you use it and it goes through your pump it will cause dammage

if you got to use it go to a resterant supply shop and get a fine paper mesh strainer pour the bottle of ice through it thus filtering out the crapy stuff
