Hey guys, I come here all the time for solutions to my problems. But this is the first time I've ever posted here.
My current setup is;
CPU: FX 6300 @ 4.2Ghz overclocked
Cooler: Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO
GPU: Sapphire R9 270x Vapor X OC Edition 2GB
Mobo: AsRock Extreme3 970 R2.0
PSU: 750w Thermaltake Smart Power
RAM: 2 x 4GB G.Skill 1866hz memory
HDD: 240GB Crucial M500 SSD + WD Blue 500GB HDD
I play World of Warcraft on an almost daily basis and this is by the most regular game I play, though I play many other games too. Including many modern FPSes and other genres.
What I'm curious about is what my next Upgrade should be, I've looked around at different GPUs, CPUs on the AM3+ Socket and Intel CPUs too. My current thought process is that I should upgrade my CPU to the i5 4690k first, because games like World of Warcraft, a relatively old MMO, are quite CPU bound and are limited in their multi-core utilization.
Though I am unsure as to whether it would make a major difference in the game or not. Or even if it did, would it make more of a difference than me upgrading to something along the lines of an R9 290x?
At the moment playing WoW @ 1080p and ultra / high settings I can manage around 60+FPS, although when I get into 25 Man raids my FPS can end up tankign to around 25FPS, sometimes slight jittering aswell. I don't know whetther that would be because the CPU isn't capable enough or because I expect too much out of the graphics card. Hence why I'm here.
So in conclusion, I'm stuck as to whetehr I should upgrade to the i5 4690k / i5 4460 / sometihng along that price range. Or whether I should upgrade my GPU to something like the R9 290x. Help? Bearing in mind that although I play many games, world of Warcraft is my top played by far.
