Hiya! I'm upgrading my system since my old Radeon r9 270x just died. It was a great card that handled anything I threw at it but as we move into 2016 I need a better gpu, and it breaking was just in time.

Now the two competitors are the gtx 960 4gb from evga or the Radeon r9 380x from Asus.

My build is mostly AMD, with a fx vishera 8320 oc'd at about 4.5mhz, 8gb of corsair vengeance memory, and an asus r9 2.0 mobo, powered by 500watts. I really want to stick with AMD, and from what I can see the benchmarks between the two that the 380x performs better. I just need some help deciding and some outside opinions.

380x is the better card, the 960 isnt made to have 4gb of vram with its 128 bit memory bus. that being said, you only have a 500watt psu and the 960 is a lot less power hungry and would be safer
