Hello, I have a very simple question, im wanting to know what will be the best way to connect my Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, and future devices to the same Cat6 cable.
As of right now I have a single Cat6 cable running from our only router to my Xbox One. And everything else is using wifi. I'm not having a issue with the wifi. I just want to have everything hardwire if possible. But due to where my router is located in the house, i cant running any more cat cables from it to my room. So I figure I will just branch off from the one I currently have.
Should I use another router or get a switch though? A switch would be cheaper and will offer more ports for future devices. I'm just not sure how a switch actually works in comparison to router when it comes to handling different devices and transmitting data. Like would I be able to use all 3 of my current devices at once on a switch or no?
