[SOLVED] Help with connecting devices to my docking hub ?

Hi All!
Background: I'd like to be able to use the same setup for both Macbook and PC tower.

I am looking to use a thunderbolt3/usb-C docking hub (which is connected to two Dell Monitors via DP, soundbar and mic) with my Win 10 PC Tower as well as with my Macbook Pro. My MBPro will be ok but I need to add a USB-C port on my tower which has an Asus motherboard (link below). If I add a PCIe card with usb-3 (link below) would this work? I don't really understand if this relates at all to the graphics card on the tower.

Not sure what other info I can provide or if this is possible.

I thought the usb-c /thunderbolt would do that no?

I think thunderbolt do. but your motherboard don't support thunderbolt

USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt are not the same thing. Thunderbolt is a VARIATION of USB 3 standard that is capable of handling video signals. Adding a PCIe slot card should work as long as the total TDP is not more than the 75w the MB uses on PCIe lanes and the add in card is SPECIFICALLY is rated as a "Thunderbolt" connection card. Also, keep in mind that lane may be shared with your GPU, other SATA or USB connections, etc and so may not have all 75w available anyway. Frankly, if this is important to you it may be time to upgrade your MB.

I have not looked into that in detail but it sounds right. I think you are out of luck on that one
