hey guys, (woah sorry this is such a long post)

first of all, how do you tell the temp. of your computer in windows? i can only see when i check my bios. that being said my P4 1.5 runs at 55 degrees and my system is 40+ degrees. is that too hot? IF i leave my case closed, i can feel the case (it is a metal not plastic case) getting warm/hot. the case part over my power supply gets hot, the sides get warm and my cds are burning when they come out.

i have a fan on my powersupply and cpu (retail hsf) and that's it. i also have 2 40 Gig 7200 HDDs and another floppy drive mounted one on top of the other... that adds alot more heat. and my burner is one slot away (so i guess that's why all my cds come out toasty... even ones that i just am reading)...

do i need to add fans? right now i leave my case open but i would like to close my case. my case has spots for fans (front bottom, rear middle under powersupply) BUT the front can only suck air from the ground (as the front plastic case doesn't have any holes).

if i need to add fans (i know intake front, outtake rear) can ijust get any fans? my uncle will give 'em to me for a couple bucks, but i don't want to add more noise to my computer. does it matter what kind of fan i use?

thx,
chris

It would prolong the life of your system if you would add at least a front case
fan. Even a low speed 80mm fan would help and would be quiet and should fit your
case. You can also download the motherboard monitor program shown below to watch
your system temps in windows.
