HELP With CORSAIR H50

Hey Guys, have any of U bought CORSAIR Cooling Hydro Series CWCH50-1 120mm High Performance CPU Cooler - Retail?????

How Is this?????
Does It Require Maintainnence????
Does IT requires Any Kind Of Liquid to Work?????
And What does Pre-filled, closed-loop system Means????

1. The cooler performs on par with other top end air cooling, while usually being quieter.

2. Every CPU Cooler needs maintenance. Even stock coolers.

3. It comes with water inside it already i am fairly sure.

4. Closed loop means you do not need a whole Water cooling kit to use this. It uses its own water and pumps it into the Radiator itself.

It's sealed by the manufacturer so you never need to fill it up yourself - in fact you can't fill it up yourself.

What processor are you using, and how far to you plan to overclock it (if at all) - the H50 isn't any special at cooling Core i7 chips with a fairly large overclock.

The H50 comes with a 120mm fan on it - that picture just doesn't show it.

But in order to perform properly the 120mm fan must be an INTAKE fan, pushing cool air from outside the case over the rad and into the case. As a result you do risk messing up your case's airflow.

thats retard of corsair to ask that of people...what if i use it witha computer where all the air currently coming out of the case is ice cold?

If all the air coming out of your case is cold then you either have problems dissipating the heat or your hardware doesn't run hot enough to need a liquid cooler!

There are plenty of testers who have set the H50's fan to exhaust like normal - some have seen no change in temps, others have seen the temps go higher a touch but within acceptable levels, others see a big rise.

It all depends on how warm your internal temps are I guess.

Personally, I won't touch the H50 - you just can't cool an overclocked i7 with a single 120mm rad.

You might be OK if you're not overclocking too much.

Google some benchmarks, reviews and comparisons to see how it performs.

Those charts say it all - the H50 is nothing special, and you can get better coolers for the same price, or the same performance for a lower price.

If you're not interested in any major overclocking and want a near silent cooler then get the H50 if you like.

Personally I'd get something else - in fact the STOCK COOLER on my Phenom II X2 550 BE is silent inside my case.

Seeing that the furst version of my core2duo system wasSilent in a crappy old case with 100% used stuff was pretty amzing. But now i havd a dofferent case and its 2 thermaltake blue led fans are hella loud

As I said earlier if you're not overclocking your CPU then you're probably going to be OK with the H50 if you really want to use it.

If you are going to overclock then you might be OK if you don't push it too far.

Well, The thing is, The That Key Factor that I Wanna chose water cooling is the climate in my country....
I'm from India and the summer temp. here is above 35 C.. so, the basic Idea that I get about water cooling is that U need cold air..., at-least not 35*C hot air........... So, If the air is hot, then there is no point in AIR cooling SYS................... That's why I'm looking for a Affordable water cooling SYS that does'nt require Liquid to be Filled.............

You do Realize that Water in a closed loop will stay pretty close to room temperatures at all times right?The Fan will help it stay a bit cooler, but not that much. Unless you want to put an air conditioner blowing into it, it will have nearly the same effect as a good air cooler.

It is like leaving a bottle of water in the room....it just isnt going to stay cold. Even if you put a fan on it. Common sense man.

truhls is correct in what he's saying. Unless you use some kind of crazy refrigeration or TEC cooler you can never get your temperatures below ambient.

Even with India's high ambient temperatures a lot of what you need is airflow, not air temperature - even above 35 Celcius your cooler will still be able to dump its heat out of the fins into the air, so you should be OK if you can move a lot of air.

Personally I'd spend the same money on a big tower cooler like the Prolimatech Megahalems and put a pair of 120mm fans on it to really shift some air. Will probably cost the same as the H50 too.

The only other thing you can do is to have your computer somewhere near an air conditioner so the ambient temperature is lower.

I think the only way you are going to see a decent difference in colling is if you spend 200+ on a good Water cooling system. ANd i only recommend that if you have put one together before, otherwise you have a fairly good chance of taking out your whole PC with a leak.
