Question I can't figure out how to unscrew the CPU cooler ?

I saw a review of that cooler when it came out years ago.

It looks like a pain to install.

There are 2 of those nubs on the top of the cooler you can unscrew. You also remove the middle fan. You can then run a screw driver though the hole you see when you remove the nubs
Thanks for the reply! Yeah it is really a pain lol. I was thinking about that middle fan as well. Just didn't want to do more harm if possible, before getting some advice. I appreciate the reply - will try and see what it looks like when removing the middle fan.

Do you know the exact model of the cooler? You can search for a user manual to see how it's installed.

If you don't , post pictures of the cooler. Maybe it can be identified.
Nevermind, i didn't see the pic. 😀

As a tip, run the cpu a bit to warm up the paste and make it easy to remove.
Nice tip! I never thought of this, will try and remember that one. But mostly I am struggeling with how to get to the screws, they are hidden well inside the system and I couldn't figure out why it was not possible to unscrew from the back. But thanks for taking the time to reply!

Haha no worries. They are not the best pictures really, so I could have made it a bit easier to see the actual CPU cooler. I think I have the receipts somewhere, will try and find them. Was thinking the same. Thanks for the reply!

I only got the receipt for the GPU. Sadly. Was also trying to look it up on YT, but without knowing the exact cooler system it was a bit difficult. The PC is running great, so everything is fine, was just thinking that maybe 16GB RAM was getting a bit low, for newer games.

16 is low today.

You are planning to remove the old RAM and replace it with a new kit? Right?
Because mixing RAM kits is a good way to introduce headaches into your life.

Long story short, sticks of RAM hate each other and vendors have to test them in groups to find pairs or quadruplets that work together.
Always install a single kit. You can try mixing kits and it may work without a hitch. Sometimes it works. Other times your PC won't even boot.

You should be able to just remove the f a n to install more memory.
Looks like this cooler.

Yes that was my plan, to not mix RAM, have always been told that it was never a good idea. Thanks for taking the time to reply!

It should be enough to just unclip frontal cpu fan, to gain access to ram modules.
Lol. I am such a noob. Well not totally a noob, but it has been some time since I build my own PC. I think you are correct. The RAM on this mainboard are a little bit more under the cooler, but I just looked at it, and it does actually seem to be possible, with a little good will. Haha. Again, thanks for taking the time. Time to change RAM.
