Help with cpu fan

Hi i just unistalled my h100i becuase it was defective to send it back and i reinstalled my stock intel cpu fan which i havent used before becuase i went right to the h100i when building, but now when i turn my pc on the cu fan wont spin up and i get and error that says cpu fan error f1 for setup then it goes into bios on my asus mobo and it shows that its not even detected please help thanks.

Did u install the cpu fan connection in the right spot? the 4 pin labeled for cpu fan? Im guessing since its errors its a connection issue. like if it was just dead the motherboard u think would still power on and the fan just wouldnt spin and no error

holy crap i feel like an idiot, your reply worked lol i looked at the plug and it wasent on the cpu one lol thanks so much, and how do i chose a best answer so i can make yours the one
