yes thats true.! for example older 945g chipset wont support core 2 quad, you need 965 or a newer one

Sorry to tell you this, but there's not a lot more you can do for that board.

EDIT: That's interesting. Your site says it has a 965 chipset, this site says it has a 945 graphics chipset.

Can you download CPU-Z and post the motherboard information?
