Help with CPU's

I am building a computer and need a CPU (of cource), could someone help me with which i7 processor to get. I am using the computer for gaming and yes I know "theres really no need for an i7 for gaming" and all that stuff but I have my mind set in and i7 and I want the extra power. I am looking at performance vs price. I am current looking at these two processers

Intel I7-3820, 3.60Ghz/10mb cache
-$300

Or

Intel I7-4790, 3.60Ghz/ 8mb cache
-$350

If you could tell me which is better for price vs performance that would be great. Also if you have any better suggestions for I7 processors I welcome your thoughts. By the way I live in Canada so keep that in mind for prices.

DON'T get the i7-3820, it's older, slower and a mobo for that thing is going to be a lot more expensive.

I7 4790 is a lot newer, faster and motherboards for it are far cheaper.
