Hi

If I understand your post correctly (little unclear) you have 32 GB, 4x 8GB sticks is this correct ?

1. Make sure that the RAM you are using is actually Dual Channel single kit. Meaning all 4 sticks came in a single package with same S/N etc. not 2x 8GB with different S/Ns. There is quite a bit of RAM floating around that has difficulties running in the configuration you have if you mix it up. Especially if its an early model or revision of DDR4, those were problematic. It would help if you posted exactly and precisely what it is you have and a link where you got it for complete specs.

2. Boot up your system on any RAM, even a single stick of your old working RAM will do, and download and update your BIOS. Even if you already...

Even if you already have, sometimes BIOS updates get corrupted during the process, so something may not be working correctly. On Gigabyte boards, enter your BIOS settings and make sure its actually the one you updated to, not the old one, since Gigabyte boards have in effect 2 BIOS that they switch between, sometimes they do so incorrectly, and if a BIOS update got corrupted or you haven't set it, you may be on your old one, not the new one.

3. Go to here http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5480#memory%20support%20list and download the list. If your RAM is not on that list, you may have issues and may need to go wit ha different RAM.

4. Make sure your RAM pairs are in their correct slots, for example, some boards will use slot 1 and slot 3 for 1st pair, and slot 2 and slot 4 for second pair, while other boards will use slot 1 and 2 for 1st pair, and 3 and 4 for the second pair. There are even some really weird boards out there that use slot 2 and 3 for 1st pair, and 1 and 4 for the 2nd pair (though those are rare). So check the manual for your board, which slot is paired with which and remember to install your RAM pairs into their respective paired slots, if you get them wrong the RAM won't work.

5. You may have a bad board. Even if you just bought it brand new, if its a revision 1.0 (or around that timeframe) made board, it may have actual hardware issues. There were a lot of bad boards when DDR4 support 1st came out and a lot of RMAs. A lot of those boards and the reused parts are still floating around at the vendors. If you have a new revision board, the likelyhood of board hardware issue is greatly diminished.

6. If you do get it working via BIOS update or plugging into different slots (you should update the bios anyways), then don't forget to get the new drivers for the Z170 chipset. Get all the drivers from Gigabyte, unpack them and install, you may also want to check out intel website, as often there are newer drivers and/or utilities there for intel stuff then the ones you get from manufacturers.

Hope some of this stuff helps you out and you can find and eliminate the issue.
