Can I somehow get my w7 product key from my motherboard bios as my hdd is dead with click of death which I have a replacement for ..
I dont have any discs or back ups to turn to and as my system was changed from new a few times im not sure purchasing original disc from dell will work they say download of image is no longer up on the site Im not wanting to give money I can barely afford for which if doesn't work will leave me without options to replace the laptop.
Any practicle help welcome

No, W7 keys are not linked to the BIOS - to recover, you'd have to pull from the drive (assuming there's no sticker).

Now, if this is a legit W7 that shipped with the laptop, there should be a sticker underneath or under the battery compartment with the product key.

As for original disks, a vanilla W7 would be your best bet. The OEM from Dell will reinstall all the bloat that originally shipped with the laptop.
You can download here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/software-download/windows7

You will need a product key though and, being OEM, might not let you download.

You could but you need a windows product key to activate windows. Or if you have a product key you can download from Microsoft
