I'm looking to purchase a gaming PC. My employer offers a program where they will buy me a computer and I just have to pay for it over a year; unfortunately, they only go through Dell. I've been looking at Dell gaming computers, but I really do not know what to do get. Do I need a specific processor to power a higher end graphics card? How do I determine if the card will power the monitor? How much RAM do I need? HD? I know, I'm a noob, but you're assistance will be greatly appreciated!

What games do you intend to play?

Go to each game's manufacturer/website and look up the game's hardware and software requirements.

Likely listed in some "minimum", "recommended", and "best" table. E.g., Memory might be 2 GB, 4 GB, and 8 GB respectively.

Your computer choice should not be "minimum". Go with "recommended" or "best" if affordable within your employer's offering.

Key is to learn what specifications matter and how to match components to games accordingly.
