Question Help with Discord

Hi,
I'm a discord newbie.
I can't log in fully so I can't use Discord to ask questions.
Googling does not help.
So I'd thought ask here.
I open Discord, and my browser auto logs me in. I see my user name and green light at the lower felt corner of the page.
At the top of the page is a green message saying "claim account"
I click on that and a small windows opens, and I enter email and password that already had logged me in.
I get a message saying "email already registered"
I am stuck in a circle I think.
Any suggestions for link that can solve my newbie problem?

1. Clear the browser cache/cookies etc. and do not auto login with saved password. Then close the browser and re-open and try logging in by typing your email and password. If that doesn't work then try step 2.
2. You could log out and try using a different browser.
