Hello techies!

I'm upgrading my system with set of new CPU+MoBo+RAM.

The CPU is a Phenom II 970 BE, the MoBo is a Asus Crosshair 4, and the RAM, well - Corsair, 3x2GB, to be more specific, but there are two very similar models.
One is called TR3X6G1600C8 (link to an online shop: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145236&cm_re=TR3X6G1600C8-_-20-145-236-_-Product ), the other is called TR3X6G1600C8D (notice the "D"), (and a link in the same shop: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145224&cm_re=TR3X6G1600C8-_-20-145-224-_-Product)

The "D" version costs about 20€ more. Is the passive cooling the only diference here? The Asus board comptability file lists only the "D" version, although I found both in various sources around the net.
Can someone try to clear things up a bit for me here?
Thanks!

Ignore the 'graph' {mine} in the sense of Comparison Module #1...#7 - NONE of them are compatible with your MOBO; the 'comparisons' are for the RAM IC used ONLY. They are all i7/Tri Channel Kits. {{ The IC on the TR3X6G1600C8D are the SAME as the IC for the CMP4GX3M2A1600C9 }} I recommended. The 'graph' is for 'demonstration' purposes of CAS, Speed, and IC used in the RAM...

CMP4GX3M2A1600C9 is WHAT you need to use.
Same IC's edit: for what I posted for you above Corsair + {CAS}; interesting data look at the Speeds & CAS info:

Comparison Module #1: Mushkin Redline 996805 6-8-6-24 1600MHz
Comparison Module #2: G.Skill Pi Series 7-8-7-24 1600MHz
Comparison Module #3: Mushkin 998687 8-9-8-24 1866MHz
Comparison Module #4: Corsair Dominator TR3X6G1600C8D 8-8-8-24 1600MHz
Comparison Module #5: Kingston HyperX T1 9-9-9-27 1600MHz
Comparison Module #6: Mushkin Blackline 998677B 7-7-7-20 1333MHz
Comparison Module #7: Patriot Viper II Sector 7 9-9-9-27 1800MHz

PM same info - oopsy.

That looks promising indeed, but, oddly enough, the specific model ( TR3X6G1600C8D ) shows up in the compatability list provided by Asus in form of 1 DIMM support... And the CMP4GX3M2A1600C9 wasn't listed at all...

Solution
Oh, heh. Right.

Got the point now.
I'll start off with 2x2GB and see how much the system uses. I'll get the other 4GB at some point later, probably. Thanks for the info!
