I am having trouble installing windows 7 in a dual boot environment on my system. I am trying to dual boot windows 7 for legacy applications that will not work on windows 10. I have got everything ready I have my ISO burned on to a drive using RUFUS https://rufus.akeo.ie/. However I had a problem with the install. on both my SSD and HDD I made partitions of both and they both failed . Initially windows was saying it did not like my HDD in GPT format so I reformatted to MBR with still no luck. My SSD houses all my information so I did not reformat that drive. The windows installer says that it won't support the drive in MBR format which is what windows 7 likes and in bios I am in Legacy mode it is boggling my mind please help.

and i just go thru some forums and they said that u should always install earlier version than a newer one...so that mean u should install win7 and then win10 maybe there is a problem...:-/

Well that is what I would usually do, however in this case it won't work it is a app for updating a GPS that will not work no matter what compatibility mode is applied. With windows 7 compatibility mode on it still says it does not recognize the OS.

I did try that at first and then remembered that wouldn't work so I formatted my storage HDD which is entirely separate from my Windows 10 instillation, and it wouldn't accept that either.

I didn't give that many details other than the partition type on the disk was not supported. It was a MBR type so I don't know why it would not be supported.

This does make sense as so many thing have changed from windows 7 to windows 10 I am going to try this but am also pretty sure that is what the issue is. Thank you for your time.
