So i Just went To the market to change my desktop to a tower and got it done. i asked him to install windows 8 on it even though i could do it myself but hey who cares. i got a new hd 5770 and i haven't installed the drivers yet and i cant see my dvd drive's icon in computer. when i open the drive it opens smoothly and blinks and then it's like the drives empty. the device manager only shows my wimax internet device under cd roms what type of problem is it and what is its solution.

It sounds like you don't have one of the cables hooked up. You obviously have the power cable plugged in, but what about the Sata/IDE cable?

Another option if you can't get the DVD drive working is to grab a USB drive and make it bootable. Then you can download the ISO for windows and any driver you may need to it and just use that to install everything. No DVD's required, lol. I had to do this since my new board didn't support my old IDE DVD drive, it only would work using a sata DVD drive.
