Help with First SSD

Solution
Hybrid drives aren't a good buy, dedicated SSD and HDD will always be better due to the drastic speed differences and minimal benefits the additional speed the SSD provides to games etc.
Also @OP, 120GB is generally regarded as the absolute bare minimum for an SSD, while 240GB is considered in the reasonable range.
$50 is rather slim.

The main thing you need to decide on is size.
Many people will say a 120GB is fine.

Personally, I think that is too small. 250 or larger.
Just a week or so ago, a member in here...120GB drive, Win 10, and a single new game. Out of space.

A 120GB can work, but you really have to manage the space on it.

Well my current budget is around $50, but if I wait a little it's around $100, but if i spent that much I would prefer to get this

to completely replace my crappy loud old hitachi.

Everyone says "Only Windows (and Steam)"
It never works out that way.

Those hybrid drives are in the middle, between HDD and SSD.
If that is your only drive, maybe. (I wouldn't)
But a 250GB SSD + large HDD is the preferred way to go. Depending on budget, of course.

I see your point. Any recommendations for a 250gb ssd then? And a decent priced hdd(current one is load af makes we wanna die)

For an m.2 drive, this:

Crucial MX300 275GB. $90.

I'd say at that price point you're better off spending another $8 and getting the 850 Evo, that's my personal opinion though, SSDs seem to be getting much more expensive lately....
MX 300 275GB went from $70 to $90, the 850 Evo went from high 70s/mid 80s to $98, and the SP550 went from $55 to $72.
