Software seems to of become corrupted and not picking up my g 502 lightspeed anymore. I have alot of saved profiles and I dont want to run the risk of doing a fresh install and loosing them..were does the presets save and what folder do I need to back up before doing this so I dont loos everything.?

Solution
To begin with, make sure you have the backup of the settings files which contains your custom settings stored in a safe folder.

Make a duplicate of the file somewhere on the PC, on the desktop for example, and only use that when trying to restore, until you succeed in it.

This way, you have an untouched and complete backup of the important settings you have done, and a copy of the files for restoring attempts.

If the duplicate of the backup is somehow damaged or written over, you stilll have the completely original and untouched original backup, and this means you can try again with a different method.

The restore method is described different places online as well, I'll see if there's a better alternative than the pdf file I...
From the bottom of page 2 and on in this pdf-guide, should help explain how to save and restore settings and profiles in G-Hub, under the headline "Restoring your old settings"

Oh, I forgot to add the default location of the current settings :

C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Local\LGHUB\settings.json

thanks. I backed up the settings.jason and settings.backup files..unistalled and reinstalled G hub..mouse is now picked up..but profiles completly gon..so i quite G hub. and tried to replace the settings.jason and settings.backup that I preivously copyed. and now G hub wont go beyond the loading..its stuck on the loading screen and wont go any further.

Did you follow the guide completing the correct steps in the right order? It seemed to be important with regards to a succesful outcome.

I have not used the guide myself, but I did read it.

In my initial reply, I recommended creating an online G-Hub profile, because I was sure I had read somwhere, that custom profiles would be stored in the cloud, when logging in. I use G-Hub and created a profile only because of that.

But since I had some doubts if I remembered correctly, and it was not a complete succes the last time I was depending on it personlly, I decided to recommend backing up the settings file instead, as it was mentioned as the best method in several places. Also, that's what I used to do with the former LGS software

I'll look around and see if there's an explanation the the issues you've run into. As long as you have the settings file backed up, it seems it should be easily put back into a working user profile.

But I have not tried it personally

EDIT : I just remembered, I had to reinstall G-Hub because I couldn't load G-Hub, on a completely fresh Windows install only about a month ago. I re-installed the software, and without me being able to completely understand why, it was working fine afterwards.

Yould consider trying to go through the steps once more, if you have the time, confirming you follow the steps to the letter

That's great news, I have a lot of custom mouse settings myself, and some of them I can't even remember why I specifically set that way, I just know that I can't recreate them for each game, and they're important to me.

So I fully understand how important something like this can be. I'm glad to hear you got it working again, despite the unforseen difficulties
