So I want to create my own gaming PC but I'm not really sure if the hardware components fit together, etc. These are the specs I've found so far:

Case: NZXT S340
Motherboard: GigaByte GA-Z97X-Gaming 5
CPU: Intel I7-4790K 4GHz 8M
GPU: Gigabyte GTX970 4GB WINDFORCE
RAM: DDR3 2x4GB/2400MHz Kingston
PSU: Corsair VS650W
HDD: Sata3 3,5" 1TB Seagate

My question is: Will this build make a good gaming PC? Thanks in advance.

Solution
With that kind of budget, you can build almost whatever you want.

If you are unconcerned about overclocking, a Xeon E3-1231 V3 and an H97 motherboard could save you about $100 that could be put towards a 980/Ti or Fury X.

A SSD is also a must with that kind of budget.

This information is rather important. Do you intend to overclock?

That PSU is of questionable quality. Stick with EVGA or XFX atm.

This is well in your budget, and has everything you'll need for gaming for quite a long time.
