I'm going to be ordering parts for a gaming PC build. Since graphics card prices are currently inflated, I'm going to keep my Nvidia 1060 from my old PC. I plan to eventually buy a 3060ti in a year or so if the prices come down.

I haven't built a PC in many years and haven't been completely following all the parts. The parts below are what I came up with from a week or so of research.
** Not interested in LED lighting. It will be in a office shared with my wife. Feel free to suggest parts that have LED's as long as those can be disabled.

Please advise if I'd be better off with different parts for performance or price. Looking to stay around this budget.

I would go with a good cooler and faster RAM along with it. Ryzen takes advantage of faster RAM...

Consider the new I5-12600K processor.
For gaming, it is a better chip than the 5600X.
Particularly for cpu centric single threaded games.
Here is a review:

Most any Z690 motherboard will do.
There are several in the $200 range that will use the less expensive DDR4 ram.
Your other parts are good.

I would consider a 750 or 850w psu because your likely upgrade
could be a much stronger graphics card.
A psu will only use the power demanded of it regardless of the max capability.

It does look like that CPU is faster in all the benchmarks. I'll likely switch my build to that one. Thanks for pointing that out!

For the mobo, I usually prefer Asus because that seems to be what I've always had the least trouble with. Though let me know if there's another you suggest. So considering the ASUS Prime Z690M-Plus D4 simply because it's the least expensive. Though looks like there are many different models.

The Z690-P is $219 and has 2.5 GB LAN and more power stages.

The Prime Z690M-Plus is $189 with 1GB LAN.

If my Internet is 300M, is there any reason to get the 2.5GB?

Do the 'power stages' really matter?

Any other performance features that would make it worth one of the more expensive boards? I don't plan to have more than 2 M2 slots and don't really care about lighting effects.

What is your prospective cpu cooler?
I would have an issue with the cougar MX330 case.
A cheap case is ok, but that particular case has limited height for an air cooler and limited front air intake.

I've re-done many of the parts. Is there a suggested cooler? Currently selected this cooler because it was the least expensive:

Thermaltake TOUGHAIR 310 170W TDP CPU Cooler $43

Is a mid tower large enough?

I'll probably be ready to pull the trigger the first week or two of the year. May do some part re-selecting if prices change.

The Phantek P400A can only use AIO liquid coolers in the front, nevertheless likely the best option, can put the one fan in the front to the top in that case.
The airflow edition of the Corsair 400D is just $5 more so is an interesting option,
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/bCYQzy/corsair-4000d-airflow-atx-mid-tower-case-cc-9011200-ww
has imo better cooler compatibility.

Think for cooler i would use one of these, best be aio watercooler, the tower might keep it cool enough for normal turbo,
you would have to change directions of the fans if keeping the Phantek case, think the Corsair 4000D airflow is a really good alternative and not that much more expensive, the cooler could there go in the top.

Ended up buying a pre-built PC because I decided I wanted one with a video card. Got a Cyberpower PC from Best Buy when it was on sale for $1500.

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/cyberp...b-hdd-500gb-ssd-black/6481354.p?skuId=6481354

Intel i7-11700F - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti - 1TB WD HDD + 500GB WD SSD.

I replaced the cooler with a Corsair liquid cooler and added a 2TB nvme to store games. Using the 500GB nvme for the OS.

No complaints so far other than COD was crashing at first. Fixed by a bios update. Motherboard is a Gigabyte B560 DS3H AC.
