Question Help with GPU Temps

Hi guys

I have just built a Mini ITX system in the Phantex Shift case. I have an RTX 2080ti with a blower cooler. I don't play loads of games but I do enjoy a good shooter.

The system has been working fine for work but tonight I played Rage 2.

With in seconds the system sounded like it was about to take off. After about 5 mins of playing I flipped open the roof of the case and the GPU I/O plate was red hot. I mean too hot to leave your finger on.

The Shift case does hold the GPU in a vertical position so one would expect the I/O plate to be hotter than normal but does this sound right?

I have downloaded HW Monitor and this reports a max temp of 79 degrees under load and 43 when idle which doesn't sound too bad. It just doesn't feel and sound right.

I was warned about the case but I liked the look of it so much I ignored the warnings.

Just wondering what you guys think. I know some of you have more experience than I have. I just don't want to brick my new card.

I should also add that the game plays fine with no crashing or artifacts.

Thanks Richard

Well, I would suggest you to download HWinfo64 and GPUZ since they will give you more sensor points, like VRM's (Those things control voltage to components) and VRAM (The GPU RAM). IF they are under control I would call it a day.
I remember when I used to have an GTX 470 and IO shield was also toasty since the whole hot air is being pushed trough that IO shield.
