Help with graphics card?

Yesterday I got the AMD club3D (Cant remember rest) and i put it in. My monitor only supports VGA cable but the graphics card needs DVI or HDMI.I bought a DVI to VGA adaptor and i plugged everything in, and the screen did not connect.do i need to get the driver before connecting the graphics card?If yes send me the link to the driver download (Give all AMD Club3D links if you can) thank you.

What exact card do you have? Need to know if you have a DVI-I or DVI-D. It is fully hooked up right?
