hi i have recently built a computer it was my first time to.below i will list the specs.

i5 4670k
asus z87 pro
be quite rock advanced c1 cpu cooler
msi twin frozer gtx 760 oc edition
corsair 1600mhz 2*4gb RAM
1 tb hdd
samsung cd drive
OCZ 650 watts bronze psu

first thing id like to ask is i have a application that came with my gpu it looks like a widget and has 3 options oc, gaming mode, and silent mode. now im guessing silent mode turns down voltage, gpu speed and fans etc. but im wondering is it safe to click overclock button to overclock gpu or is that something that must be done via msi afterburner manually?

also I have a cool master storm enforcer case and in the future if i was to do sli with 2 760's would there be any over heating issues?

lastly i am normally a console gamer and never got into pc gaming until playing medeival 2 total war 2 years ago and then etw on meduim/low. i really enjoyed them, with my new build i play at 1920 by 1080. but i bought a new pc specifically for rome 2. now im getting mixed responses, some people claim to be able to play ultra and even extreme with aa turned off, i wanted to know is this gpu okay, should i overclock my cpu( its at 3.4ghz) at the moment. im a student and dont have alot of money, should i give this back and get gtx 770? should i wait two months and get sli?(with busary from uni 😛 ) what are your experiences with msi gtx 760

Congrats on the build. I own many of the same components (CPU and MOBO). The widget is made by ASUS and allows you to overclock your CPU and Memory, this should only be done if you have proper cooling conditions. If you want to overclock your GPU you can do so with the built in software it has. The GTX 760 is a nice card (don't own a GPU, waiting for a nice Black friday special) and should run the majority of the games at decent specs.

Now with regard to ROME Total WAR 2, this is a very heavy intense game, this card (3GB) would definately run Ultra Settings (taking the shogun specs) it says you would at least get 86fps with AA off and 52fps with it on...

Can't ask for more than that. but if you got $150 sitting around definately bump up to the 770

Enjoy
