Help with HDD and SDD

I am currently looking to build a pc. But before I do so, I need some knowledge on more things. I know that an SSD makes loading times lightening fast but I do not have enough money at this time for one. My question is, can I partition a part of my HDD ( around 120GB) to do the same features as an SSD would? (I am planning on getting a 3TB HDD)

As awesome as that would be it cant be done, The HDD will run mechanical with moving parts where as an SSD is all flash memory, similar to that of an SD card. Hope this Helps!
