I am having a problem when I connect my television to my computer with a HDMI cable. I have my computer set to extend the desktop. What happens is when I connect the HDMI, the desktop shifts. It seems like part of the screen that should be on the TV is on the computer screen. This pushes half of my desktop off the screen. I have played around with the resolutions, but none of the different resolutions completely fix the problem. It is always pushed aside and cropped some. Any help would be appreciated.

Update: I finally found a little info, but not a full solution. I have to go into the Intel onboard graphics to fix the problem, but I do not know what settings I am suppose to change. If someone knows, please help.

OK. I am visually impaired so I will try to give you as much info as I can.
1.The TV model I do not know. I will try to get it later when someone who can see it is here.
2. It is connected with a 10ft. HDMI to HDMI cable.
3. The TV resolution is set to 1360x768
4. The monitor is a Hyundai w240d
5. It is set to 1920x1200 and is connected with a standard VGA cable.
6. It is on the onboard card in my gateway dx4860 desktop.
7. Both items are hooked up straight, there are no splitters or anything like that on them.

It may take me a bit to try and get a picture. Yes, the computer is fine when I turn the hdmi off. It is only when they are both active that I am having problems.
I have already checked and there is a newer driver on intels site, but my driver for gateway is the most up-to-date one.

Ok. so in the process of trying to take the pictures I found out what the problem is. Being almost blind, I work with the magnifier on most of the time. When the magnifier is on. arrow desktop treats the desktop as one thing so when I went to the right side of the screen, it would go right over to the desktop the tv had. When I turn magnify off, it shows as normal. It just confused me greatly when I was trying to get to the notifications because it kept showing the second desktop.I think I will have to send a bug report to Microsoft about the problem.
