hey i upgrading my room soon and i want to setup a LAN connection to all of my computers and consoles my idea was to connect an internet splitter to all of the LAN devices and then from one port in the splitter to connect my router can someone help me how to do that and if i can what to buy to do that (i added a pic how it should work)

i don't see a picture but just get an 8 port 1gb switch and that should work

Really depends on how many devices you want to connect. For instance I only need to connect two to three devices hard wired and three are fine connecting wireless, so I just purchases a four port wireless router. My (current) two systems are hard wired to the router and my two laptops and kindle can all connect wireless.

Now understand, I don't to anything too intensive on my wireless devices; work on one and finances/browsing on the other. I wouldn't want to try and play an online game over a wireless connection. If you're going to need more than four devices hard wired to the router, then you'll want a set up as USAFRet suggests.
