I built this computer back in April and was working for a few months perfectly it seemed. I have been searching the internet for about a month now when this problem came about. It is a weird problem for sure and I've been building PCs since I was 12, I am 33 now. It started off with the nvlddmkm.sys video_tdr_error blue/black screens especially during high GPU loads like playing 7 days to die or Rust or Fallout(tested multiple games). I bought this whole computer except the monitor, mouse, and keyboard back in April this year. When it first started a GPU update was available so of course I did it and I thought that was the problem. So I downloaded DDU and cleaned all the drives and tried three different drivers, new, middle, and oldest. That was not it and I thought for sure it was the drivers because sometimes it wouldn't even register my GPU is on the system, in device manager it would show an error but it doesn't currently. So I re-seated the graphics card and THAT WORKED for a few weeks it seemed, I could play my games and etc... So after the few weeks I got the glitches and weird stuff started happening again so I tried it again and it worked for about a week it seemed this time. Now re-seating does not work at all and every time I load up a GPU intensive game or do a Furmark Stress test it instantly locks up and closes that application. I also have GPU-Z installed but don't really know what to look for. One thing to note I did notice that the PCIX 16 slot clip was off somehow but I found it in the case and snapped it back on, since I air cleaned everything.

I ran out of ideas, any help or hints you guys can give me would be awesome!

Hey there man! i have the exact same graphics card AND CPU As you Honestly i think your card might be failing. great. Maybe you got a bad card out of the bunch? Also your gpu might be dying because from what you said sounds like GPU failure. I would suggest re seating again and if that doesnt help check the drivers. that will help with performance issues 80% of the time. But you really should get a new card because what your saying sounds exactly like a failing gpu.

Thanks for the reply, I actually am having my dad's engineering company reflow it in in a machine so I will test it after that while I use my old 960.

Yeah you probobaly got a bad card out of the bunch. Because mine works perfectly but my cpu is a 3600x not 3600 so idk maybe its a cpu related issue? Btw check your graphics card drivers and check your gpu fans to make sure the card is properly being cooled.
