Yeah 8Gb is more than enough. Get a SSD then to replace your HDD or just to have windows + some programs installed on. They are so much faster, make the biggest difference in speed when in windows.

I recommend the Samsung 840 Evo 250Gb.
Hi,

The core i3 is should actually be good for what you want to do, a core i5 would be overkill so imagine a core i7.
If you have slowdowns and hickups the problem lies elsewhere.

How much ram, what's your video card do you have
check for viruses, (adwcleaner, roguekiller, junkware removal tool and combofix if badly infected.)
how fast is your internet and check your hard drive status with hard disk sentinel trial.

Else, if you really want a new cpu, get the cheaper core i5, should work like a charm.
What's your current configuration ?

hi the pc is clean I've ran checked for viruses

Graphics card is AMD HD 7750
8Gb Ram

Internet is 125mb virgin media

also Hard drive as been checked

I have to agree with dextermat. Googling around everything I saw had the 660 with a 3rd gen core i which should be plenty depends on which one though. Has it always been slow?
