I installed a Gigabyte GA- 965P-S3 motherboard on my new computer, and I had a few problems with the installation of the driver. I installed Windows XP Professional, and I updated it to SP2, and then I began to install my motherboard drivers. I used the 965/946 Chipset Utility CD Ver 1.02 that came with my motherboard. In the Install Chipset Drivers menu I selected everything except for the Yahoo! Toolbar and then clicked XPress Install at the top to install everything. It starting installing things for a while, but then when it was about to restart my system, an error screen appeared that showed:
"Windows was unable to save all data for the file C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache\usbui.dll The data has been lost. This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network connection. Please try to save this file elsewhere."

The computer froze, and I had to press the reset button to restart. When it got back to Windows(the CD was still in) it said: "Xpress install will continue to install drivers." At this point I noticed that the "INF Update Utility" check box had been grayed out, and it was installing the drivers below that.

After it finished installing all the drivers, everything appeared to work correctly, but is there something I should do to fix the problem or someway I can check if all the chipset driver files are working correctly?

Go to the mobo manufacturers website, and ensure you have the latest drivers. They might even contain a fix for just the sort of problem you encountered.

In any case, it is always best to work with the latest ones.

I have the same problem with inf instalation but the system crashes with a pci.sys error after the reboot and must be reinstalled. I try the last inf from the gigabyte site and it crash again.

I have F8 Bios, 1MB RAM Kingston 800, D935 CPU/3.0G and GA X1550 video card.

Why in the world doesnt Gigabyte have their own forums? I have the same board and I'm having the PCI problem also and have sent 2 emails through the Gigabyte Technical service zone and have never received a reply  I have updated by bios to F12 tried reinstalling new drivers and every time I boot up I get a windows message that it has found a new PCI device, and then get random BSOD because of a driver problem associated with the PCI device I cannot install.
Is Gigabyte the only mobo manufacturer that leaves its customers to fend for themselves and rely on other users to fix these problems?

Simple solution: Do a Google search for 'Gigabyte download center', follow the instructions and the page will tell you if there are any motherboard driver updates available and if necessary install them for you. Done.

Not really at least now it is working. You will know about it if something is wrong but does not seem to be the case for you.

Yeah thanks, my original post was from last year, I haven't hadn't any problems so far, so my issue is resolved as far as I'm concerned.
