So after RMA'ing a set of RAM for my computer which I had tons of problems with I have found one of the sticks that were returned to give me intermittent boot issues.
I can boot fine with one of the sticks by itself in any slot but can only boot with the other stick even by itself ~20% of the time. I have tried much fiddling with timings, frequencies, and voltages but still cannot get it to work on any regular basis, including trying memOK which just gives up after awhile.
The odd thing however is the times that I can get it to boot with the bad stick it will not show any errors under memtest and will run Windows perfectly fine until I leave the computer off for an extended amount of time and try to boot or try to insert the good stick of RAM.
So now I am wondering if it is just another defective piece of RAM or this problem could come from other parts of my computer.
The RAM is:
Crucial Ballistix Sport 8gb (4gb x 2) DDR3-1600
BLS8G3D1609DS1S00
I have:
Asus M4A87TD EVO motherboard
AMD Phenom II x6 1090T
Relatively cheap PSU (wondering if this could be a factor)
