I am on my laptop a lot and I worry about heat.

Right now I am using these

http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=laptop+cooling+feet&qs=n&form=QBIR&pq=laptop+cooling+f&sc=0-0&sp=-1&sk=#view=detail&id=5E89D21D58809B533C2580ED69CE91DA9E8FAC40&selectedIndex=23

and I do believe they help some. But, there has to be a way to keep it cooler, I would think.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

What are any of you all using that makes a significant impact on operating temperatures? What kind of price range?

thanks

I use it on my lap sometimes but it's not as comfortable as the Belkin ones. So yes, it's more for desks.

And I second tiny voices question, your temps might be fine.

Those feet look rediculous in my opinion. Go to like a best buy and just get like a targus laptop chill pad, thats what i use while im gaming. Dont need to use the fans powered via usb, i just use the mat to keep the vents off my blanket or lap. Think theyre like $20 when i bought one a few months ago.

Hmm from my personal experience, the Cooler Master NotePal U3 is the best laptop cooler out there. It's customizable (Comes with 3 high performance 80mm removable fans that can go up to 1800 RPM fan speed). It's also made of strong aluminum.

I bought mine two years ago and it's still working like new.

Looks good and is pretty cheap, but can you use it on your lap like the Belkin or Targas ones? Or is it more sit on the desk type one?

speedfan is reporting these temperatures

gpu 59

hd0 45

temp1 76

core0 61

core1 69

I don't know what is good or not, but there is a little flame icon by all except hd0

What do you all advise?

Ok, I shut everything down except speedfan. I disconnected from internet, shut off security. and waited a few minutes.

Numbers are 55, 45, 45, 40, 40 ... GPU never gets under 54 ,,, is this normal?

Just wanted to add, the 'notepal U stand mini' is also a very good cooling pad too, you can custom it and also since its an adjustable one so you can elevate it, and use plain fans that don't have casings so that the air flow is stronger. (if you want to go to the extreme, I always take my laptop cover off at the bottom so that cool air from the fans can circulate through the laptops components, though that depends on what laptop you have and how it is designed) iv had an idle temperature of 25 degrees on all cores. and 68 to 75 degrees average on gaming. Keep in mind too of the atmosphere or room temperature. That makes quite a difference too.
